everything is going to be just fine

ever have one of those days where despite several shitty things going on (in my case, a cold, piles and piles of snow outside, and a potential show cancellation - more on that later), everything just feels awesome?

i’m whacking down a fat cup of coffee and a delicious prosciutto, gouda, and chutney croissant here in our homebase of denver, ballerado, listening (i admit belatedly) to jamie lidell’s newest record “compass” and wondering why when i look down at my keyboard keys, they seem to swell in front of my eyes like fresh ink blots. something they slipped in my coffee or a trick of the light? you be the judge and get back to me asap.

also contemplating these 2 new eps we’re smashing together. we’ve been putting in some WORK. one of the more exciting things we’ve been able to do in our short band life thus far. as mentioned, there will be 2 of them and they will come out on the same day (2/28). why 2? well, we’ve made everybody wait too long since our last major release (last june’s the hangman ep), and we feel terrible about that. so like an apologetic lover, we will show up at your doorstep in an ill-fitting suit and tie with gifts in hand and contraceptives tucked into our wallets. they will each have three songs on them, as was the tradition we started with episode 1 (the hangman ep), and i think they will be lovely. 

as for that show cancellation. it’s definitely not our big release party on 3/3 at the bluebird theater here in denver, so all is right with the universe. we’ll let all of you in technology land know what happens and plan something super cool and great if something bad does happen.

here’s to finding shiny coins on the pavement every day and the luck they will inevitably bring.
